1 Kings 21:10

21:10

two <08147 0582> [two men.]

villains <01121 01100> [sons of Belial.]

cursed <01288> [Thou didst blaspheme.]

Some, with Parkhurst, would render the original, {bairachta elohim wamailech,} "Thou hast blessed the gods and Molech;" a sense, however, which seems extremely forced, and is not acknowledged by any of the ancient versions, though the LXX. and Vulgate render {bairachta} by [eulogese,] {benedixit,} "blessed." It is no unusual thing for a word to have opposite senses.

1 Kings 21:13

21:13

villains ......... villains <0582 01100> [the men of Belial.]

cursed God <0430 01288> [blaspheme God.]

king <04428> [the king.]

dragged <03318> [they carried him.]

Acts 6:11-13

6:11

they secretly instigated <5260> [they.]

blasphemous <989> [blasphemous.]

against Moses <1519 3475> [against Moses.]

6:12

They incited <4787> [they stirred.]

seized <4884> [and caught.]

6:13

They brought forward <2476> [set.]
