10:21 All of King Solomon’s cups were made of gold, and all the household items in the Palace of the Lebanon Forest were made of pure gold. There were no silver items, for silver was not considered very valuable in Solomon’s time. 2

[22:46]  1 tn Heb “and the rest of the male cultic prostitutes who were left in the days of Asa his father, he burned from the land.” Some understand the verb בִּעֵר (bier) to mean “sweep away” here rather than “burn.” See the note at 1 Kgs 14:10.

[10:21]  2 tn Heb “there was no silver, it was not regarded as anything in the days of Solomon.”

[21:29]  3 tn Or “humbles himself.” The expression occurs a second time later in this verse.

[21:29]  4 tn Heb “I will not bring the disaster during his days, [but] in the days of his son I will bring the disaster on his house.”
