[3:3]  1 tn Heb “Solomon loved the Lord by walking in.”

[3:3]  2 tn Or “policies, rules.”

[3:14]  3 tn Heb “walk in my ways.”

[3:14]  4 tn Or “keeping.”

[3:14]  5 tn Heb “walked.”

[3:14]  6 tn Heb “I will lengthen your days.”

[8:15]  5 tn The Hebrew text reads, “by his hand.”

[8:15]  6 tn The Hebrew text reads, “by his mouth.”

[8:24]  7 tn Heb “[you] who kept to your servant David my father that which you spoke to him.”

[8:24]  8 tn Heb “you spoke by your mouth and by your hand you fulfilled, as this day.”

[11:6]  9 tn Heb “in the eyes of the Lord.”

[11:6]  10 tn The idiomatic statement reads in Hebrew, “he did not fill up after.”

[11:27]  11 tn Heb “this is the matter concerning which he raised a hand against the king.”

[11:27]  12 sn The city of his father David. The phrase refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.

[12:6]  13 tn Heb “stood before.”

[12:6]  14 tn Heb “saying.”

[12:9]  15 tn In the Hebrew text the verb “we will respond” is plural, although it can be understood as an editorial “we.” The ancient versions have the singular here.

[12:9]  16 tn Heb “Lighten the yoke which your father placed on us.”

[13:12]  17 tn The Hebrew text has “and his sons saw” (וַיִּרְאוּ [vayyiru], Qal from רָאָה [raah]). In this case the verbal construction (vav consecutive + prefixed verbal form) would have to be understood as pluperfect, “his sons had seen.” Such uses of this construction are rare at best. Consequently many, following the lead of the ancient versions, prefer to emend the verbal form to a Hiphil with pronominal suffix (וַיַּרְאֻהוּ [vayyaruhu], “and they showed him”).

[13:12]  18 tn Heb “the man of God.”

[15:15]  19 tn Heb “and he brought the holy things of his father and his holy things (into) the house of the Lord, silver, gold, and items.” Instead of “his holy things,” a marginal reading (Qere) in the Hebrew text has “the holy things of [the house of the Lord].”

[15:26]  21 tn Heb “in the eyes of.”

[15:26]  22 tn Heb “and he walked in the way of his father and in his sin which he made Israel sin.”
