[11:29]  ² tn The Hebrew text has simply “he,” making it a bit unclear whether Jeroboam or Ahijah is the subject, but in the Hebrew word order Ahijah is the nearer antecedent, and this is followed by the present translation.

[13:3]  ³ tn Heb “gave.”

[13:3]  ⁴ tn Heb “spoken.”

[13:3]  ⁵ tn Heb “the fat.” Reference is made to burnt wood mixed with fat. See HALOT 234 s.v. דשׁן.
