1 Kings 5:3-5

5:3 “You know that my father David was unable to build a temple to honor the Lord ¹  his God, for he was busy fighting battles on all fronts while the Lord subdued his enemies. ²  5:4 But now the Lord my God has made me secure on all fronts; there is no adversary or dangerous threat. 5:5 So I have decided ³  to build a temple to honor the Lord ⁴  my God, as the Lord instructed my father David, ‘Your son, whom I will put on your throne in your place, is the one who will build a temple to honor me.’ ⁵

5:2 Solomon then sent this message to Hiram:

7:1 Solomon took thirteen years to build his palace. ¹²

Right now I am gathering a couple of sticks for a fire. Then I’m going home to make one final meal for my son and myself. After we have eaten that, we will die of starvation.” ¹⁶

22:8 The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man through whom we can seek the Lord’s will. ¹⁷  But I despise ¹⁸  him because he does not prophesy prosperity for me, but disaster. His name is Micaiah son of Imlah. ¹⁹  Jehoshaphat said, “The king should not say such things.” 22:9 The king of Israel summoned an official and said, “Quickly bring Micaiah son of Imlah.”

22:10 Now the king of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah were sitting on their respective thrones, ²⁰  dressed in their robes, at the threshing floor at the entrance of the gate of Samaria. ²¹  All the prophets were prophesying before them.

1 Kings 1:6

1:6 (Now his father had never corrected ²²  him ²³  by saying, “Why do you do such things?” He was also very handsome and had been born right after Absalom. ²⁴ )
