1 Kings 5:9

5:9 My servants will bring the timber down from Lebanon to the sea. I will send it by sea in raft-like bundles to the place you designate. ¹  There I will separate the logs ²  and you can carry them away. In exchange you will supply the food I need for my royal court.” ³

1 Kings 13:17-18

13:17 For the Lord gave me strict orders, ⁷  ‘Do not eat or drink ⁸  there; do not go back the way you came.’” 13:18 The old prophet then said, ⁹  “I too am a prophet like you. An angel told me with the Lord’s authority, ¹⁰  ‘Bring him back with you to your house so he can eat and drink.’” ¹¹  But he was lying to him. ¹²

18:13 Certainly my master is aware of what I did ¹³  when Jezebel was killing the Lord’s prophets. I hid one hundred of the Lord’s prophets in two caves in two groups of fifty and I brought them food and water.

1 Kings 21:4

21:4 So Ahab went into his palace, bitter and angry that Naboth the Jezreelite had said, ¹⁴  “I will not sell to you my ancestral inheritance.” ¹⁵  He lay down on his bed, pouted, ¹⁶  and would not eat.

1 Kings 21:7

21:7 His wife Jezebel said to him, “You are the king of Israel! ¹⁷  Get up, eat some food, and have a good time. ¹⁸  I will get the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite for you.”

[5:9]  ¹ tn Heb “I will place them [on? as?] rafts in the sea to the place where you designate to me.” This may mean he would send them by raft, or that he would tie them in raft-like bundles, and have ships tow them down to an Israelite port.

[5:9]  ³ tn Heb “as for you, you will satisfy my desire by giving food for my house.”

[11:18]  ⁴ tn Heb “and they arose from Midian and went to Paran and they took men with them from Paran and went to Egypt to Pharaoh king of Egypt and he gave to him a house and food and he said to him, and a land he gave to him.” Something seems to be accidentally omitted after “and he said to him.”
