[6:15]  1 tc The MT reads קִירוֹת (qirot, “walls”), but this should be emended to קוֹרוֹת (qorot, “rafters”). See BDB 900 s.v. קוֹרָה.

[8:36]  2 tn The translation understands כִּי (ki) in an emphatic or asseverative sense.

[8:36]  3 tn Heb “the good way in which they should walk.”

[8:36]  4 tn Or “for an inheritance.”

[8:50]  3 tn Heb “and forgive your people who have sinned against you, [forgive] all their rebellious acts by which they rebelled against you, and grant them mercy before their captors so they will show them mercy.”

[9:5]  4 tn Heb “I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever.”

[9:5]  5 tn Heb “there will not be cut off from you a man from upon the throne of Israel.”

[16:24]  5 map For location see Map2 B1; Map4 D3; Map5 E2; Map6 A4; Map7 C1.

[16:24]  6 tn The Hebrew term כִּכָּר (kikkar, “circle”) refers generally to something that is round. When used of metals it can refer to a disk-shaped weight made of the metal or to a standard unit of weight, generally regarded as a talent. Since the accepted weight for a talent of metal is about 75 pounds, this would have amounted to about 150 pounds of silver.

[16:24]  7 tn Heb “he built up the hill.”

[18:25]  6 tc The last sentence of v. 25 is absent in the Syriac Peshitta.

[20:30]  7 tn Heb “and the remaining ones fled to Aphek to the city and the wall fell on twenty-seven thousand men, the ones who remained.”

[20:30]  8 tn Heb “and Ben Hadad fled and went into the city, [into] an inner room in an inner room.”
