  Night’s shadows falling men to rest are calling; Rest we, possessing heav’nly peace and blessing: This we implore Thee, falling down before Thee, Great King of Glory! O Savior, hear us! Son of God, be near us! Thine angels send us; let Thy love attend us: He nothing feareth, whom Thy presence cheereth, Light his path cleareth. Be near, relieving all who now are grieving; Thy visitation be our consolation: O hear the sighing of the faint and dying; Lord, hear our crying! Thou ever livest; endless life Thou givest; Thou watch art keeping o’er Thy faithful sleeping; In Thy clear shining they are now reclining, All care resigning. O Lord of Glory, praise we and adore Thee— Thee for us given, our true Rest from Heaven! Rest, peace, and blessing, we are now possessing, Thy Name confessing.

  Exalt the Lord, His praise proclaim; All ye His servants, praise His Name, Who in the Lord’s house ever stand And humbly serve at His command. The Lord is good, His praise proclaim; Since it is pleasant, praise His Name; His people for His own He takes And His peculiar treasure makes. I know the Lord is high in state, Above all gods our Lord is great; The Lord performs what He decrees, In heaven and earth, in depths and seas. • [Psa 135:1] O Praise Ye The Name Of Jehovah

  O praise ye Name of Jehovah, Proclaim ye His glory abroad; O praise Him, ye servants appointed To stand in the house of our God. O praise ye the Lord for His goodness; ’Tis pleasant His praises to sing; His people, His chosen and precious, Your praises with gratitude bring. I know that the Lord is almighty, Supreme in dominion is He, Performing His will and good pleasure In Heaven and in earth and the sea. His hand guides the clouds in their courses, The lightning flames forth at His will, The wind and the rain He releases His sovereign designs to fulfill. To ransom His people from bondage Great wonders and signs He displayed; He smote all the first-born of Egypt, Till Pharaoh made haste and obeyed. Great nations and kings that opposed Him Were smitten by God’s mighty hand; Their riches He gave to His people, And made them inherit the land. Thy Name shall abide, O Jehovah, Through all generations renowned; The Lord is the Judge of His people, His mercies forever abound. Men’s idols of gold and of silver Can speak not, nor hearken, nor see; Like them shall their makers be helpless, Unblest shall their worshippers be. Ye people who worship Jehovah, His praises with gladness proclaim; His servants, and all ye that fear Him, Sing praise to His glorious Name. O Church of our God, sing His praises, For with you and in you He dwells; O sing hallelujahs before Him, Whose glory all praises excels.

  Praise ye the Lord, exalt His Name, While in His holy courts ye wait, Ye saints, that to His house belong, Or stand attending at His gate. Praise ye the Lord, the Lord is good; To praise His Name is sweet employ: Israel He chose of old, and still His church is His peculiar joy. • [Psa 135:3] Yes, God Is Good

  Yes, God is good; in earth and sky, From ocean depths and spreading wood, Ten thousand voices seem to cry, “God made us all, and God is good.” The sun that keeps his trackless way And downward pours his golden flood, Night’s sparkling hosts, all seem to say, In accents clear, that God is good. The merry birds prolong the strain, Their song with every spring renewed; And balmy air, and falling rain, Each softly whispers, “God is good.” I hear it in the rushing breeze; The hills that have for ages stood, The echoing sky and roaring seas, All swell the chorus, God is good. Yes, God is good, all nature says, By God’s own hand with speech endued; And man, in louder notes of praise, Should sing for joy that God is good. For all Thy gifts we bless Thee, Lord, But chiefly for our heavenly food; Thy pardoning grace, Thy quickening word, These prompt our song, that God is good.
