1 Kings 8:18

8:18 The Lord told my father David, ‘It is right for you to have a strong desire to build a temple to honor me. ¹ 

1 Kings 2:44

2:44 Then the king said to Shimei, “You are well aware of the way you mistreated my father David. ²  The Lord will punish you for what you did. ³ 

[8:18]  ¹ tn Heb “Because it was with your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was with your heart.”

[2:44]  ² tn Heb “You know all the evil, for your heart knows, which you did to David my father.”

[2:44]  ³ tn Heb “The Lord will cause your evil to return upon your head.”
