[5:7]  1 tn Heb “men.”

[5:7]  2 tn Heb “for his hand is severe upon.”

[8:8]  3 tn Heb “according to all the deeds which they have done.”

[10:5]  5 tn Or “sentries.” Some translate “outpost” (NIV) or “garrison” (NAB, NRSV, NLT) here (see 1 Sam 13:3). The noun is plural in the Hebrew text, but the LXX and other ancient witnesses read a singular noun here.

[19:24]  7 tn Heb “and he fell down.”

[20:29]  9 tn Heb “send me.”

[20:29]  10 tn Heb “commanded.”

[20:29]  11 tn Heb “be released [from duty].”

[25:25]  11 tn Heb “and foolishness is with him.”

[25:25]  12 tn Heb “my lord’s servants, whom you sent.”

[28:18]  13 tn Heb “listen to the voice of the Lord.”

[30:23]  15 tc This clause is difficult in the MT. The present translation accepts the text as found in the MT and understands this clause to be elliptical, with an understood verb such as “look” or “consider.” On the other hand, the LXX seems to reflect a slightly different Hebrew text, reading “after” where the MT has “my brothers.” The Greek translation yields the following translation: “You should not do this after the Lord has delivered us.” Although the Greek reading should be taken seriously, it seems better to follow the MT here.
