[9:14]  ¹ tn Heb “to meet them.” This may indicate purpose on Samuel’s part. The next sentence indicates that the meeting was by design, not just an accident.

[13:10]  ² tn Heb “to bless him.”

[14:16]  ³ tn Heb “at Gibeah of Benjamin.” The words “in the territory” are supplied in the translation for clarity.

[14:16]  ⁴ tn Heb “saw, and look!”

[14:16]  ⁵ tn Heb “the crowd melted and went, even here.”
