1 Thessalonians 1:10

1:10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath. ¹ 

1 Thessalonians 2:3

2:3 For the appeal we make ²  does not come ³  from error or impurity or with deceit,

[1:10]  ¹ sn The coming wrath. This wrath is an important theme in 1 Thess 5.

[2:3]  ² tn Grk “For our exhortation.” Paul here uses παράκλησις (paraklhsis) to speak in broad terms about his preaching of the gospel, in which he urges or appeals to people to respond to God’s salvation (cf. the verb form παρακαλοῦντος [parakalounto"] in 2 Cor 5:20).
