The Lord Gives Solomon Wisdom

1:1 Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority, ¹  for ²  the Lord his God was with him and magnified him greatly.

2 Chronicles 25:5

25:5 Amaziah assembled the people of Judah ¹⁰  and assigned them by families to the commanders of units of a thousand and the commanders of units of a hundred for all Judah and Benjamin. He counted those twenty years old and up and discovered there were 300,000 young men of fighting age ¹¹  equipped with spears and shields. ¹² 

2 Chronicles 34:4

34:4 He ordered the altars of the Baals to be torn down, ¹³  and broke the incense altars that were above them. He smashed the Asherah poles, idols and images, crushed them up and sprinkled the dust over the tombs of those who had sacrificed to them.

[1:1]  ² tn The disjunctive clause (note the vav [ו] + subject pattern) probably has a causal nuance here.

[5:8]  ³ sn These poles were used to carry the ark. The Levites were to carry it with the poles on their shoulders. See Exod 25:13-15; 1 Chr 15:15.
