[1:3]  1 tn Or “high place.”

[1:3]  2 tn Heb “the tent of meeting of God.”

[1:1]  3 tn Heb “and Solomon son of David strengthened himself over his kingdom.”

[1:1]  4 tn The disjunctive clause (note the vav [ו] + subject pattern) probably has a causal nuance here.

[8:6]  5 tn Heb “Solomon.” The recurrence of the proper name is unexpected in terms of contemporary English style, so the pronoun has been used in the translation instead.

[8:6]  6 tn Heb “the cities of the chariots and the cities of the horses.”

[8:6]  7 map For location see Map5 B1; Map6 F3; Map7 E2; Map8 F2; Map10 B3; JP1 F4; JP2 F4; JP3 F4; JP4 F4.

[8:6]  8 tn Heb “and all the desire of Solomon which he desired to build in Jerusalem and in Lebanon and in all the land of his kingdom.”
