2 Chronicles 13:10

13:10 But as for us, the Lord is our God and we have not rejected him. Aaron’s descendants serve as the Lord’s priests and the Levites assist them with the work. ¹ 

2 Chronicles 29:6

29:6 For our fathers were unfaithful; they did what is evil in the sight of ²  the Lord our God and abandoned him! They turned ³  away from the Lord’s dwelling place and rejected him. ⁴ 

2 Chronicles 34:25

34:25 This will happen because they have abandoned me and offered sacrifices ⁵  to other gods, angering me with all the idols they have made. ⁶  My anger will ignite against this place and will not be extinguished!’”

[13:10]  ¹ tn Heb “and priests serving the Lord [are] the sons of Aaron and the Levites in the work.”

[29:6]  ² tn Heb “in the eyes of.”

[29:6]  ³ tn Heb “turned their faces.”

[29:6]  ⁴ tn Heb “and turned the back.”

[34:25]  ³ tn Or “burned incense.”

[34:25]  ⁴ tn Heb “angering me with all the work of their hands.” The present translation assumes this refers to idols they have manufactured (note the preceding reference to “other gods”). However, it is possible that this is a general reference to their sinful practices, in which case one might translate, “angering me by all the things they do.”
