13:11 They offer burnt sacrifices to the Lord every morning and every evening, along with fragrant incense. They arrange the Bread of the Presence on a ritually clean table and light the lamps on the gold lampstand every evening. Certainly 1  we are observing the Lord our God’s regulations, but you have rejected him.

21:7 But the Lord was unwilling to destroy David’s dynasty 2  because of the promise 3  he had made to give David a perpetual dynasty. 4

[21:7]  2 tn Heb “house.”

[21:7]  3 tn Or “covenant.”

[21:7]  4 tn Heb “which he made to David, just as he had promised to give him and his sons a lamp all the days.” Here “lamp” is metaphorical, symbolizing the Davidic dynasty.
