Context

14:1 (13:23) 1  Abijah passed away 2  and was buried in the City of David. 3  His son Asa replaced him as king. During his reign 4  the land had rest for ten years.

Ahaziah’s Reign

22:1 The residents of Jerusalem 5  made his youngest son Ahaziah king in his place, for the raiding party that invaded the city with the Arabs had killed all the older sons. 6  So Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.

2 Chronicles 26:23

Context
26:23 Uzziah passed away 7  and was buried near his ancestors 8  in a cemetery 9  belonging to the kings. (This was because he had a skin disease.) 10  His son Jotham replaced him as king.

2 Chronicles 32:33

Context
32:33 Hezekiah passed away 11  and was buried on the ascent of the tombs of the descendants of David. All the people of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem buried him with great honor. 12  His son Manasseh replaced him as king.

2 Chronicles 36:8

Context

36:8 The rest of the events of Jehoiakim’s reign, including the horrible sins he committed and his shortcomings, are recorded in the Scroll of the Kings of Israel and Judah. 13  His son Jehoiachin replaced him as king.

[14:1]  1 sn Beginning with 14:1, the verse numbers through 14:15 in the English Bible differ from the verse numbers in the Hebrew text (BHS), with 14:1 ET = 13:23 HT, 14:2 ET = 14:1 HT, 14:3 ET = 14:2 HT, etc., through 14:15 ET = 14:14 HT. Beginning with 15:1 the verse numbers in the ET and HT are again the same.
