2 Chronicles 18:7

18:7 The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man through whom we can seek the Lord’s will. ¹  But I despise ²  him because he does not prophesy prosperity for me, but always ³  disaster. His name is Micaiah son of Imlah. ⁴  Jehoshaphat said, “The king should not say such things!”

Job 21:14

21:14 So they say to God, ‘Turn away from us!

[18:7]  ⁴ tn The words “his name is” are supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[21:14]  ⁵ tn The absence of the preposition before the complement adds greater vividness to the statement: “and knowing your ways – we do not desire.”

[21:14]  ⁶ sn Contrast Ps 25:4, which affirms that walking in God’s ways means to obey God’s will – the Torah.
