[2:16]  1 tn Heb “and we will cut down trees from Lebanon according to all your need.”

[2:16]  2 tn Heb “to you,” but this phrase has not been translated for stylistic reasons – it is somewhat redundant.

[2:16]  3 tn Or “on rafts.” See the note at 1 Kgs 5:9.

[20:2]  4 tn Heb “they”; the implied referent (messengers) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[20:2]  5 tn Heb “the Sea”; in context (“from the direction of Edom”) this must refer to the Dead Sea, which has been specified in the translation for clarity (cf. NEB, NLT).

[20:2]  6 tc Most Hebrew mss read “from Aram” (i.e., Syria), but this must be a corruption of “Edom,” which is the reading of the LXX and Vulgate.
