2:6 Of course, who can really build a temple for him, since the sky ¹  and the highest heavens cannot contain him? Who am I that I should build him a temple! It will really be only a place to offer sacrifices before him. ²

6:26 “The time will come when ³  the skies ⁴  are shut up tightly and no rain falls because your people ⁵  sinned against you. When they direct their prayers toward this place, renew their allegiance to you, ⁶  and turn away from their sin because you punish ⁷  them,

2 Chronicles 22:9

22:9 He looked for Ahaziah, who was captured while hiding in Samaria. ¹⁰  They brought him to Jehu and then executed him. They did give him a burial, for they reasoned, ¹¹  “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with his whole heart.” There was no one in Ahaziah’s family strong enough to rule in his place. ¹²

[6:26]  ³ tn Heb “when.” In the Hebrew text vv. 26-27a actually contain one lengthy conditional sentence, which the translation has divided into two sentences for stylistic reasons.
