21:19 After about two years his intestines came out because of the disease, so that he died a very painful death. 1  His people did not make a bonfire to honor him, as they had done for his ancestors. 2

25:14 When Amaziah returned from defeating the Edomites, he brought back the gods of the people 3  of Seir and made them his personal gods. 4  He bowed down before them and offered them sacrifices.

34:25 This will happen because they have abandoned me and offered sacrifices 5  to other gods, angering me with all the idols they have made. 6  My anger will ignite against this place and will not be extinguished!’”

[21:19]  1 tn Heb “and it was to days from days, and about the time of the going out of the end for the days, two, his intestines came out with his illness and he died in severe illness.”

[34:25]  6 tn Heb “angering me with all the work of their hands.” The present translation assumes this refers to idols they have manufactured (note the preceding reference to “other gods”). However, it is possible that this is a general reference to their sinful practices, in which case one might translate, “angering me by all the things they do.”
