2 Chronicles 24:15-18

24:15 Jehoiada grew old and died at the age of 130. ¹  24:16 He was buried in the City of David ²  with the kings, because he had accomplished good in Israel and for God and his temple.

24:17 After Jehoiada died, the officials of Judah visited the king and declared their loyalty to him. ³  The king listened to their advice. ⁴  24:18 They abandoned the temple of the Lord God of their ancestors, ⁵  and worshiped ⁶  the Asherah poles and idols. Because of this sinful activity, God was angry with Judah and Jerusalem.

[24:16]  ² sn The phrase the City of David refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.

[24:17]  ³ tn Heb “came and bowed down to the king.”
