2 Chronicles 24:25

24:25 When they withdrew, they left Joash ¹  badly wounded. His servants plotted against him because of what he had done to ²  the son ³  of Jehoiada the priest. They murdered him on his bed. Thus ⁴  he died and was buried in the City of David, ⁵  but not in the tombs of the kings.

2 Chronicles 25:27

25:27 From the time Amaziah turned from following the Lord, conspirators plotted against him in Jerusalem, ⁶  so he fled to Lachish. But they sent assassins after him ⁷  and they killed him there.

2 Chronicles 33:24

33:24 His servants conspired against him and killed him in his palace.

[24:25]  ² tn Heb “because of the shed blood of.”

[24:25]  ³ tc The MT has the plural בְּנֵי (bÿney, “sons”), but the final yod is dittographic. Note the yod that immediately follows.

[24:25]  ⁴ tn Heb “and he died.”

[24:25]  ⁵ sn The phrase the City of David refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.

[25:27]  ⁶ tn Heb “and they conspired against him [with] a conspiracy in Jerusalem.”

[25:27]  ⁷ tn Heb “and they sent after him to Lachish.”
