Context
26:19 Uzziah, who had an incense censer in his hand, became angry. While he was ranting and raving 1  at the priests, a skin disease 2  appeared on his forehead right there in front of the priests in the Lord’s temple near the incense altar.

30:8 Now, don’t be stubborn 3  like your fathers! Submit 4  to the Lord and come to his sanctuary which he has permanently consecrated. Serve the Lord your God so that he might relent from his raging anger. 5

[26:19]  1 tn Heb “angry.”

[26:19]  2 tn Traditionally “leprosy,” but this was probably a skin disorder of some type, not leprosy (technically known today as Hansen’s disease). See 2 Kgs 5:1.

[30:8]  3 tn Heb “don’t stiffen your neck” (a Hebrew idiom for being stubborn).

[30:8]  4 tn Heb “give a hand.” On the meaning of the idiom here, see HALOT 387 s.v. I יָד 2.

[30:8]  5 tn Heb “so that the rage of his anger might turn from you.” The jussive with vav conjunctive indicates purpose/result after the preceding imperative.
