28:19 The Lord humiliated 1  Judah because of King Ahaz of Israel, 2  for he encouraged Judah to sin and was very 3  unfaithful to the Lord.

20:22 When they began to shout and praise, the Lord suddenly attacked 4  the Ammonites, Moabites, and men from Mount Seir 5  who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

[28:19]  2 sn That is, “of Judah.” Frequently in 2 Chronicles “Israel” is substituted for “Judah.”

[28:19]  3 tn The infinitive absolute precedes the finite verbal form to emphasize the degree of Ahaz’s unfaithfulness.

[20:22]  4 tn Heb “set ambushers against.” This is probably idiomatic here for launching a surprise attack.

[20:22]  5 tn Heb “the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir.”
