23:18 Jehoiada then assigned the duties of the Lord’s temple to the priests, the Levites whom David had assigned to the Lord’s temple. They were responsible for offering burnt sacrifices to the Lord with joy and music, according to 2  the law of Moses and the edict of David.

10:16 When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered the king, “We have no portion in David – no share in the son of Jesse! 3  Return to your homes, O Israel! 4  Now, look after your own dynasty, O David!” 5  So all Israel returned to their homes. 6

[28:21]  1 tn Heb “divided up,” but some read חִלֵּץ (khillets, “despoiled”).

[23:18]  2 tn Heb “as it is written in.”

[10:16]  3 sn The people’s point seems to be that they have no familial relationship with David that brings them any benefits or places upon them any obligations. They are being treated like outsiders.

[10:16]  4 tn Heb “each one to your tents, Israel.” The word “return” is supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[10:16]  5 tn Heb “Now see your house, David.”
