29:10 Now I intend 1  to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, so that he may relent from his raging anger. 2

30:8 Now, don’t be stubborn 3  like your fathers! Submit 4  to the Lord and come to his sanctuary which he has permanently consecrated. Serve the Lord your God so that he might relent from his raging anger. 5

[29:10]  1 tn Heb “now it is with my heart.”

[29:10]  2 tn Heb “so that the rage of his anger might turn from us.” The jussive with vav (ו) conjunctive indicates purpose/result after the preceding statement of intention.

[30:8]  3 tn Heb “don’t stiffen your neck” (a Hebrew idiom for being stubborn).
