Ahaziah’s Reign

22:1 The residents of Jerusalem ⁶  made his youngest son Ahaziah king in his place, for the raiding party that invaded the city with the Arabs had killed all the older sons. ⁷  So Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.

2 Chronicles 28:9

28:9 Oded, a prophet of the Lord, was there. He went to meet the army as they arrived in Samaria and said to them: “Look, because the Lord God of your ancestors was angry with Judah he handed them over to you. You have killed them so mercilessly that God has taken notice. ⁸

[7:11]  ² tn Heb “and all that entered the heart of Solomon to do in the house of the Lord and in his house he successfully accomplished.”

[13:9]  ³ tn In the Hebrew text this is phrased as a rhetorical question, “Did you not banish?” The rhetorical question expects the answer, “Of course you did,” the force of which is reflected in the translation “But you banished.”
