2:15 For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing –

4:9 we are persecuted, but not abandoned; ¹  we are knocked down, ²  but not destroyed,

4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing,

[4:9]  ² tn Or “badly hurt.” It is possible to interpret καταβαλλόμενοι (kataballomenoi) here as “badly hurt”: “[we are] badly hurt, but not destroyed” (L&N 20.21).
