2 Corinthians 12:11

Context
The Signs of an Apostle

12:11 I have become a fool. You yourselves forced me to do it, for I should have been commended by you. For I lack nothing in comparison 4  to those “super-apostles,” even though I am nothing.

2 Corinthians 5:16

Context
5:16 So then from now on we acknowledge 5  no one from an outward human point of view. 6  Even though we have known Christ from such a human point of view, 7  now we do not know him in that way any longer.

2 Corinthians 7:5

Context
7:5 For even when we came into Macedonia, our body 8  had no rest at all, but we were troubled in every way – struggles from the outside, fears from within.

2 Corinthians 11:9

Context
11:9 When 9  I was with you and was in need, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia fully supplied my needs. 10  I 11  kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.

[7:2]  1 tn The phrase “in your hearts” is not in the Greek text, but is implied.

[7:2]  2 tn “We have ruined no one” may refer to financial loss (“we have caused no one to suffer financial loss”) but it may also refer to the undermining of faith (“we have corrupted no one’s faith,”). Both options are mentioned in L&N 20.23.

[7:2]  3 tn Or “we have taken advantage of no one.”

[12:11]  4 tn Or “I am in no way inferior.”

[5:16]  7 tn Grk “we know.”

[5:16]  8 tn Grk “no one according to the flesh.”

[5:16]  9 tn Grk “we have known Christ according to the flesh.”

[7:5]  10 tn Grk “our flesh.”

[11:9]  13 tn Grk “you, and when.” A new sentence was started here in the translation.

[11:9]  14 tn If the participle ἐλθόντες (elqonte") is taken as temporal rather than adjectival, the translation would be, “for the brothers, when they came from Macedonia, fully supplied my needs” (similar to NASB).

[11:9]  15 tn Grk “needs, and I kept.” A new sentence was started here in the translation.
