2 Kings 1:17

1:17 He died just as the Lord had prophesied through Elijah. ¹  In the second year of the reign of King Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat over Judah, Ahaziah’s brother Jehoram replaced him as king of Israel, because he had no son. ² 

2 Kings 9:19

9:19 So he sent a second horseman out to them ³  and he said, “This is what the king says, ‘Is everything all right?’” ⁴  Jehu replied, “None of your business! Follow me.”

[1:17]  ¹ tn Heb “according to the word of the Lord which he spoke through Elijah.”

[1:17]  ² tn Heb “Jehoram replaced him as king…because he had no son.” Some ancient textual witnesses add “his brother,” which was likely added on the basis of the statement later in the verse that Ahaziah had no son.

[9:19]  ³ tn Heb “and he came to them.”

[9:19]  ⁴ tc The MT has simply “peace,” omitting the prefixed interrogative particle. It is likely that the particle has been accidentally omitted; several ancient witnesses include it or assume its presence.
