1:7 The king ¹  asked them, “Describe the appearance ²  of this man who came up to meet you and told you these things.”

2 Kings 16:12

16:12 When the king arrived back from Damascus and ³  saw the altar, he approached it ⁴  and offered a sacrifice on it. ⁵ 

2 Kings 19:11

19:11 Certainly you have heard how the kings of Assyria have annihilated all lands. ⁶  Do you really think you will be rescued? ⁷

[16:12]  ⁴ tn Heb “the altar.”

[16:12]  ⁵ tn Or “ascended it.”

[19:11]  ⁵ tn Heb “Look, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands, annihilating them.”

[19:11]  ⁶ tn Heb “and will you be rescued?” The rhetorical question expects the answer, “No, of course not!”
