1:7 The king ¹  asked them, “Describe the appearance ²  of this man who came up to meet you and told you these things.”

2 Kings 19:11

19:11 Certainly you have heard how the kings of Assyria have annihilated all lands. ³  Do you really think you will be rescued? ⁴ 

[1:7]  ¹ tn Heb “he”; the referent (the king) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[1:7]  ² tn Heb “What was the manner…?”

[19:11]  ³ tn Heb “Look, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands, annihilating them.”

[19:11]  ⁴ tn Heb “and will you be rescued?” The rhetorical question expects the answer, “No, of course not!”
