13:2 He did evil in the sight of ¹  the Lord. He continued in ²  the sinful ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat who had encouraged Israel to sin; he did not repudiate those sins. ³ 

2 Kings 16:3

16:3 He followed in the footsteps of ⁴  the kings of Israel. He passed his son through the fire, ⁵  a horrible sin practiced by the nations ⁶  whom the Lord drove out from before the Israelites.

[13:2]  ³ tn Heb “he did not turn aside from it.”

[16:3]  ⁴ tn Heb “he walked in the way of.”

[16:3]  ⁶ tn Heb “like the abominable practices of the nations.”
