[13:6]  1 tn Heb “they did not turn away from.”

[13:6]  2 tn Heb “house.”

[13:6]  3 tc Heb “in it he walked.” The singular verb (הָלַךְ, halakh) is probably due to an error of haplography and should be emended to the plural (הָלְכּוּ, halÿku). Note that a vav immediately follows (on the form וְגַם, vÿgam).

[13:6]  4 tn Or “an image of Asherah”; ASV, NASB “the Asherah”; NCV “the Asherah idol.”

[18:20]  5 tn Heb “you say only a word of lips, counsel and might for battle.” Sennacherib’s message appears to be in broken Hebrew at this point. The phrase “word of lips” refers to mere or empty talk in Prov 14:23.

[23:9]  9 tn Heb “their brothers.”

[23:26]  13 tn Heb “Yet the Lord did not turn away from the fury of his great anger, which raged against Judah, on account of all the infuriating things by which Manasseh had made him angry.”

[24:3]  17 tn Heb “Certainly according to the word of the Lord this happened against Judah, to remove [them] from his face because of the sins of Manasseh according to all which he did.”
