14:3 He did what the Lord approved, ¹  but not like David his father. He followed the example of his father Joash. ²

16:2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem. ³  He did not do what pleased the Lord his God, in contrast to his ancestor David. ⁴

22:2 He did what the Lord approved ⁵  and followed in his ancestor David’s footsteps; ⁶  he did not deviate to the right or the left.
