Context

7:17 Now the king had placed the officer who was his right-hand man 1  at the city gate. When the people rushed out, they trampled him to death in the gate. 2  This fulfilled the prophet’s word which he had spoken when the king tried to arrest him. 3

Context
25:23 All of the officers of the Judahite army 4  and their troops heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah to govern. So they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah. The officers who came were Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah son of the Maacathite.

[7:17]  2 tn Heb “and the people trampled him in the gate and he died.”
