2 Kings 7:9

7:9 Then they said to one another, “It’s not right what we’re doing! This is a day to celebrate, but we haven’t told anyone. ¹  If we wait until dawn, ²  we’ll be punished. ³  So come on, let’s go and inform the royal palace.”

2 Kings 9:3

9:3 Take the container of olive oil, pour it over his head, and say, ‘This is what the Lord says, “I have designated ⁴  you as king over Israel.”’ Then open the door and run away quickly!” ⁵

[7:9]  ² tn Heb “the light of the morning.”

[7:9]  ³ tn Heb “punishment will find us.”

[9:3]  ⁴ tn Heb “anointed.”

[9:3]  ⁵ tn Heb “and open the door and run away and do not delay.”
