8:17 He was thirty-two years old when he became king and he reigned for eight years in Jerusalem. ¹ 

2 Kings 9:28

9:28 His servants took his body ²  back to Jerusalem ³  and buried him in his tomb with his ancestors in the city of David.

2 Kings 14:19-20

14:19 Conspirators plotted against him in Jerusalem, ⁴  so he fled to Lachish. But they sent assassins after him ⁵  and they killed him there. 14:20 His body was carried back by horses ⁶  and he was buried in Jerusalem with his ancestors in the city of David.

The intense devotion of the sovereign Lord ⁷  to his people ⁸  will accomplish this.

The Qere, along with many medieval Hebrew mss and the ancient versions, has “the zeal of the LORD of hosts” rather than “the zeal of the LORD” (Kethib). The translation follows the Qere here.
