2 Kings 8:29

8:29 King Joram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he received from the Syrians ¹  in Ramah when he fought against King Hazael of Syria. King Ahaziah son of Jehoram of Judah went down to visit ²  Joram son of Ahab in Jezreel, for he was ill.

2 Kings 9:17-18

9:17 Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel and saw Jehu’s troops approaching. ³  He said, “I see troops!” ⁴  Jehoram ordered, ⁵  “Send a rider out to meet them and have him ask, ‘Is everything all right?’” ⁶  9:18 So the horseman ⁷  went to meet him and said, “This is what the king says, ‘Is everything all right?’” ⁸  Jehu replied, “None of your business! ⁹  Follow me.” The watchman reported, “The messenger reached them, but hasn’t started back.”

2 Kings 11:14

11:14 Then she saw ¹⁰  the king standing by the pillar, according to custom. The officers stood beside the king with their trumpets and all the people of the land were celebrating and blowing trumpets. Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, “Treason, treason!” ¹¹ 

2 Kings 14:28

14:28 The rest of the events of Jeroboam’s reign, including all his accomplishments, his military success in restoring Israelite control over Damascus and Hamath, are recorded in the scroll called the Annals of the Kings of Israel. ¹²

[9:17]  ³ tn Heb “the quantity [of the men] of Jehu, when he approached.” Elsewhere שִׁפְעַה (shif’ah), “quantity,” is used of a quantity of camels (Isa 60:6) or horses (Ezek 26:10) and of an abundance of water (Job 22:11; 38:34).

The Syriac Peshitta has simply “to Israel.” M. Cogan and H. Tadmor (II Kings [AB], 162) offer this proposal, but acknowledge that it is “highly speculative.”
