9:28 His servants took his body ¹  back to Jerusalem ²  and buried him in his tomb with his ancestors in the city of David.

15:38 Jotham passed away ¹¹  and was buried with his ancestors in the city of his ancestor David. His son Ahaz replaced him as king.

2 Kings 16:20

16:20 Ahaz passed away ¹²  and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David. His son Hezekiah replaced him as king.

2 Kings 22:2

22:2 He did what the Lord approved ¹³  and followed in his ancestor David’s footsteps; ¹⁴  he did not deviate to the right or the left.

2 Kings 12:21

12:21 His servants Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer murdered him. ¹⁵  He was buried ¹⁶  with his ancestors in the city of David. His son Amaziah replaced him as king.

2 Kings 17:21

17:21 He tore Israel away from David’s dynasty, and Jeroboam son of Nebat became their king. ¹⁷  Jeroboam drove Israel away ¹⁸  from the Lord and encouraged them to commit a serious sin. ¹⁹ 

2 Kings 20:5-6

20:5 “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: ‘This is what the Lord God of your ancestor David says: “I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Look, I will heal you. The day after tomorrow ²⁰  you will go up to the Lord’s temple. 20:6 I will add fifteen years to your life and rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. I will shield this city for the sake of my reputation and because of my promise to David my servant.”’” ²¹ 

2 Kings 21:7

21:7 He put an idol of Asherah he had made in the temple, about which the Lord had said to David and to his son Solomon, “This temple in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will be my permanent home. ²²
