9:30 Jehu approached Jezreel. When Jezebel heard the news, she put on some eye liner, ¹  fixed up her hair, and leaned out the window.

9:32 He looked up at the window and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three ²  eunuchs looked down at him.

13:17 Elisha ³  said, “Open the east window,” and he did so. ⁴  Elisha said, “Shoot!” and

he did so. ⁵  Elisha ⁶  said, “This arrow symbolizes the victory the Lord will give you over Syria. ⁷  You will annihilate Syria in Aphek!” ⁸ 

[9:30]  ¹ tn Heb “she fixed her eyes with antimony.” Antimony (פּוּךְ, pukh) was used as a cosmetic. The narrator portrays her as a prostitute (see Jer 4:30), a role she has played in the spiritual realm (see the note at v. 22).

[9:32]  ² tn Heb “two, three.” The narrator may be intentionally vague or uncertain here, or the two numbers may represent alternate traditions.
