  1. Raja Daud yang agung, raja yang diurapi. Umat Tuhan terlindung, rukun aman dan damai.
  2. Iman raja pun runtuh kar'na nafsu dunia: si Uria terbunuh, maka Tuhan pun murka.
  3. Datang Natan berkata bahwa Daud berdosa. Lalu Daud bertobat, murka Allah pun sirna.

  Savior, breathe an evening blessing Ere repose our spirits seal; Sin and want we come confessing: Thou canst save, and Thou canst heal. Though destruction walk around us, Though the arrow past us fly, Angel guards from Thee surround us; We are safe if Thou art nigh. Though the night be dark and dreary, Darkness cannot hide from Thee; Thou art He who, never weary, Watchest where Thy people be. Should swift death this night o’ertake us, And our couch become our tomb, May the morn in heaven awake us, Clad in light and deathless bloom.   How David, when by sin deceived, From bad to worse went on! For when the Holy Spirit’s grieved, Our strength and guard are gone. His eye on Bathsheba once fixed, With poison filled his soul; He ventured on adultery next, And murder crowned the whole. So from a spark of fire at first, That has not been descried; A dreadful flame has often burst, And ravaged far and wide. When sin deceives it hardens too, For though he vainly fought To hide his crimes from public view, Of God he little thought. He neither would, or could repent, No true compunction felt; ’Till God in mercy Nathan sent, His stubborn heart to melt. The parable held forth a fact, Designed his case to show; But though the picture was exact, Himself he did not know. “Thou art the man,” the prophet said, That word his slumber broke; And when he owned his sin, and prayed, The Lord forgiveness spoke. Let those who think they stand, beware, For David stood before; Nor let the fallen soul despair, For mercy can restore.

  Again the Lord of light and life Awakes the kindling ray, Unseals the eyelids of the morn, And pours increasing day. O what a night was that which wrapped The heathen world in gloom! O what a Sun which rose this day Triumphant from the tomb! This day be grateful homage paid, And loud hosannas sung; Let gladness dwell in every heart, And praise on every tongue. Ten thousand different lips shall join To hail this welcome morn, Which scatters blessings from its wings To nations yet unborn.

  Lighten the darkness of our life’s long night, Through which we blindly stumble to the day, Shadows mislead us; Father, send Thy light To set our footsteps in the homeward way. Lighten the darkness of our self conceit, The subtle darkness that we love so well, Which shrouds the path of wisdom from our feet, And lulls our spirits with its baneful spell. Lighten our darkness when we bow the knee To all the gods we ignorantly make And worship, dreaming that we worship Thee, Till clearer light our slumbering souls awake. Lighten our darkness when we fail at last, And in the midnight lay us down to die; We trust to find Thee when the night is past, And daylight breaks across the morning sky.

  Come and let us sweetly join, Christ to praise in hymns divine; Give we all with one accord Glory to our common Lord. Sing we then in Jesus’ Name, Now as yesterday the same; One in every time and place, Full for all of truth and grace. We for Christ, our Master, stand, Lights in a benighted land: We our dying Lord confess; We are Jesus’ witnesses. Witnesses that Christ hath died, We with Him are crucified; Christ hath burst the bands of death, We His quickening Spirit breathe. Strive we, in affection strive; Let the purer flame revive, Such as in the martyrs glowed, Dying champions for their God. Make us all in Thee complete, Make us all for glory meet, Meet to appear before Thy sight, Partners with the saints in light. Let us then as brethren love, Faithfully His gifts improve, Carry on the earnest strife, Walk in holiness of life. Still forget the things behind, Follow Christ in heart and mind, Toward the mark unwearied press, Seize the crown of righteousness. Plead we thus for faith alone, Faith which by our works is shown: God it is Who justifies; Only faith the grace applies. Active faith that lives within, Conquers earth, and hell, and sin, Sanctifies, and makes us whole, Forms the Savior in the soul. Let us for this faith contend, Sure salvation is its end: Heaven already is begun, Everlasting life is won. Only let us persevere, Till we see our Lord appear, Never from the Rock remove, Saved by faith, which works by love. Partners of a glorious hope, Lift your hearts and voices up, Jointly let us rise, and sing Christ our Prophet, Priest, and King. Monuments of Jesus’ grace, Speak we by our lives His praise; Walk in Him we have received, Show we not in vain believed. While we walk with God in light, God our hearts doth still unite; Dearest fellowship we prove, Fellowship in Jesus’ love. Sweetly each, with each combined, In the bonds of duty joined, Feels the cleansing blood applied, Daily feels that Christ hath died. Still, O Lord, our faith increase, Cleanse from all unrighteousness, Thee the unholy cannot see; Make, O make us meet for Thee! Every vile affection kill, Root out every seed of ill, Utterly abolish sin, Write Thy law of love within. Hence may all our actions flow, Love the proof that Christ we know; Mutual love the token be, Lord, that we belong to Thee Love, Thine image, love impart! Stamp it on our face and heart! Only love to us be given! Lord, we ask no other heaven.
