[18:13]  1 tc The translation follows the Qere, many medieval Hebrew mss, and a number of the ancient versions in reading בְנַפְשִׁי (vÿnafshi, “against my life”) rather than the MT בְנַפְשׁוֹ (vÿnafsho, “against his life”).

[18:13]  2 tn Heb “stood aloof.”

[2:21]  3 tn Heb “young men.” So also elsewhere.

[3:35]  5 tn Heb “Thus God will do to me and thus he will add.”

[17:9]  7 tn Heb “that he falls on them [i.e., Absalom’s troops] at the first [encounter]; or “that some of them [i.e., Absalom’s troops] fall at the first [encounter].”
