2 Samuel 2:10

2:10 Ish-bosheth son of Saul was forty years old when he began to rule over Israel. He ruled two years. However, the people ¹  of Judah followed David.

2 Samuel 5:2

5:2 In the past, when Saul was our king, you were the real leader in Israel. ²  The Lord said to you, ‘You will shepherd my people Israel; you will rule over Israel.’”

2 Samuel 6:20

6:20 When David went home to pronounce a blessing on his own house, ³  Michal, Saul’s daughter, came out to meet him. ⁴  She said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished ⁵  himself this day! He has exposed himself today before his servants’ slave girls the way a vulgar fool ⁶  might do!”

2 Samuel 19:22

19:22 But David said, “What do we have in common, ⁷  you sons of Zeruiah? You are like my enemy today! Should anyone be put to death in Israel today? Don’t you realize that today I am king over Israel?”
