3:32 So they buried Abner in Hebron. The king cried loudly ¹  over Abner’s grave and all the people wept too.

2 Samuel 13:36

13:36 Just as he finished speaking, the king’s sons arrived, wailing and weeping. ²  The king and all his servants wept loudly ³  as well.

[3:32]  ¹ tn Heb “lifted up his voice and wept.” The expression is a verbal hendiadys.

[13:36]  ² tn Heb “and they lifted their voice and wept.”

[13:36]  ³ tn Heb “with a great weeping.”
