[1:26]  1 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the continuity with the preceding verse. Greek style often begins sentences or clauses with “and,” but English style does not.

[1:26]  2 tn Grk “and the lot fell on Matthias.”

[1:26]  3 tn Or “he was counted as one of the apostles along with the eleven.”

[9:4]  4 tn Grk “and he.” Because of the length of the Greek sentence, the conjunction καί (kai) has not been translated here. Instead a new English sentence is begun.

[9:4]  5 tn The double vocative suggests emotion.

[9:4]  6 sn Persecuting me. To persecute the church is to persecute Jesus.

[22:7]  7 tn This is a continuation of the same sentence in Greek using the connective τέ (te), but due to the length and complexity of the Greek sentence a new sentence was begun in the translation here. To indicate the logical sequence for the modern English reader, τέ was translated as “then.”
