Acts 10:25

10:25 So when ¹  Peter came in, Cornelius met ²  him, fell ³  at his feet, and worshiped ⁴  him.

Acts 20:22

20:22 And now, ⁵  compelled ⁶  by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem ⁷  without knowing what will happen to me there, ⁸

[10:25]  ² tn Grk “meeting him.” The participle συναντήσας (sunanthsa") has been translated as a finite verb due to requirements of contemporary English style.

[10:25]  ³ tn Grk “falling at his feet, worshiped.” The participle πεσών (peswn) has been translated as a finite verb due to requirements of contemporary English style.

[10:25]  ⁴ sn When Cornelius worshiped Peter, it showed his piety and his respect for Peter, but it was an act based on ignorance, as Peter’s remark in v. 26 indicates.

[20:22]  ⁵ tn Grk “And now, behold.” Here ἰδού (idou) has not been translated.

[20:22]  ⁷ sn This journey to Jerusalem suggests a parallel between Paul and Jesus, since the “Jerusalem journey” motif figures so prominently in Luke’s Gospel (9:51-19:44).
