18:25 He had been instructed in ¹  the way of the Lord, and with great enthusiasm ²  he spoke and taught accurately the facts ³  about Jesus, although he knew ⁴  only the baptism of John.

Paul’s Defense Before Felix

24:10 When the governor gestured for him to speak, Paul replied, “Because I know ⁵  that you have been a judge over this nation for many years, I confidently make my defense. ⁶

[24:10]  ⁵ tn Grk “knowing.” The participle ἐπιστάμενος (epistamenos) has been translated as a causal adverbial participle.

[24:10]  ⁶ sn “Because…defense.” Paul also paid an indirect compliment to the governor, implying that he would be fair in his judgment.
