2:13 But others jeered at the speakers, ¹  saying, “They are drunk on new wine!” ²

17:32 Now when they heard about ³  the resurrection from the dead, some began to scoff, ⁴  but others said, “We will hear you again about this.”

[2:13]  ¹ tn The words “the speakers” are not in the Greek text, but have been supplied for clarity. Direct objects were frequently omitted in Greek when clear from the context.

[2:13]  ² tn Grk “They are full of new wine!”

[17:32]  ³ tn The participle ἀκούσαντες (akousante") has been taken temporally.

[17:32]  ⁴ tn L&N 33.408 has “some scoffed (at him) Ac 17:32” for ἐχλεύαζον (ecleuazon) here; the imperfect verb has been translated as an ingressive imperfect (“began to scoff”).
